Her hand brushed his. It felt like an electric shock. She began to apologize, but when her eyes rose to his face and met his gaze there was something in the way that Copia was looking at her that made her heart race. There were stories about the extra services the other brothers had expected of their assistants. She wondered if Copia would prove the same. There was something about the card table in the corner that he insisted on using as a desk, instead of the massive ornate wooden one that dominated the room and had been built by his father, that suggested different.
She smiled a little more boldly at him. No harm ever came from a little flirting.
