It may come as no small surprise, but… I am obsessed with nail polish. But, not just any polish, my dears. Oh no. A very specific, mystical polish.

Mooncat.

Their formulas are to die for. Their colors are mesmerizing. The collections are inspiring.

And that last point, is why we are here today. At the end of 2025, I had an idea. What if I pay homage to my one obsession with that of another? What if I take that love that I feel for the brand and that creativity I put onto my nails, and create something new? What if… I wrote short stories inspired by the Mooncat collections?

I cannot say I will do all their collections, and probably not their collaborative collections, as those feel too… obvious? But I will do the ones that grab my attention.

Dropping tonight, at 8:30 central time, will be the first edition of the Polished Parables. Inspired by last year’s collection, Baroquen, witness a queer love story between two French noblewomen. And prepare yourself, it’s spicier than anything featured on the blog thus far.
